Northern Harrier in flight

Got these on Moccasin Island Tract (or 4 mile rd) which is adjacent to the Viera Wetlands. You are not allowed to park on the road, so I put car in neutral leaned across the seat with camera out the passenger window and got lucky! It was pretty windy so that helped!

Harriers are one of my favorite raptors. They are masters of low level flight. They have facial discs like owls and they think that they use their hearing, like Owls, to find prey. If you didn't know, this is an adult female.

Nice work shooting from the car window out the passenger side!

Very nice. Tons of bird pics here on UHH, but I don't recall seeing any harrier shots recently, so thanks for posting.

Thank you so much! Appreciate the info. I knew it is a female. They call males the "gray ghost" I am told.

Great shots. I have leaned out of the window many times in these situations. What is important to me is the shot, not necessarily the conditions that lead to the shot. Gary
