Eagle - SE Kansas

Don't see many of these down here in our corner of the world. This is the first time I've ever got close enough to get a half way decent picture of an eagle in the wild.
This was with a Canon 55-250 Kit Lens.
Settings - f/7.1, 1/400sec, ISO100, FL 179mm

Thank you for explaining settings, good photos. That is why I bought my 55-250 back! What mode were shooting at? P? Tv?
