Scott Kelby book
I would like to have some feed back on Scott Kelby's book on Photo Shop or any any other recommended books. I do not want e-books, prefer a hard back. Thanks for the feed back.
I have Scott Kelby's books on Lightroom 3 and Photoshop Elements 9; I'd be lost without them, as they are exactly as he describes-the book "talks" to you just as if you asked the question, "how do I...?" and it takes you through the steps without any theoretical crap that you don't need.
They are GREAT! Also have his three volume set of "Digital Photography" books where every page is pretty much a different "how to" scenario in plain english.
Amazon sells them all and when I bought them, I got a "package" deal-buy three together for a discounted price, or something like that.
I have his "The Photoshop Book For Digital Photographers" and would be lost without it. The pages are well worn as I continuously reference it.
Kelby Books are well written and very informative.
I have several of Scott's books and really enjoy them, you might try amazon and look at the used books, I've saved lots by buying used so far all have been like new.
Thanks for the reply and advice. I have ordered the book. I have some manuals that are clearly written, and are easy to read and others that are not. I have heard a lot of good about his books. Thanks
I have several scott Kelby books, and they are the ultimate in photography texts.
Another book you may want to look into is the "Missing Manual Series". I have it for CS4 and it is VERY informative.

I buy most of my books from Alibris and occasionally Amazon depending on who has the best price. As others have said, Scott Kelby books are so good I have even paid retail (OK, maybe with a B & N coupon).
The Scott Kelby Photoshop Elements 10 is due out in January. Can't live without them...pre purchase and get a big discount now...fro Amazon...
I've been using his Photoshop CS5 book and still have many hours of practice to go but the book is very well laid out. He takes you step by step through the process, start to finish with clear pictures and explanations. Definitely a must purchase for anyone trying to increase their PP skills in PS.
All the books from Kelby are great lots of info. They also have a web based learning system but the site escapes me Maybe someone with a brain can help me out.
KelbyTraining.com. It is excellent. You get access to all of the videos and you can watch them over and over. And you can get great deals on the books. I love Kelby. He is so easy to follow and understand. As are the rest of his group.
Scott, along with Michael Freeman and Martin Evening, stand at the cornerstones of photo literature. It would be my recommendation to read these authors in the order listed above, since there is a difference in experience level that these authors seem to write for much of the time.
Scott Kelby's " Digital Photography" 1, 2 and 3. A good investment.
