About 30 plus feet. Any closer and they got nervous. The one of the GBH in the weeds was shot at about 75 yards.

Great pics! That lens is definitely a winner. I finally got my new 80-400 and plan on putting through the ringer over the holidays. I can only hope it's as clear and sharp as this one :-)
