Not great quality, but sure was fun!

Select SCN on the mode dial, top of camera. Hit func/set button on back and choose HQ from the options. Focus and exposure are set on the first image. ISO will be somewhat high. Can "only" go to 50x :)

A shout-out to Bob and Richard, who I met in the canyon today. They were also taking eagle photos and turns out they are frequent visitors to UHH!

Juvenile in hasty retreat, lower left, as a second adult flies in.

Thanks so much! My birder friend uses the P510 and gets lots of great images. And since that camera "only" goes to 42x you aren't tempted to push far beyond the sensor's capabilities like I usually do when I can access my in-camera teleconverter.

Great shots. Will the eagles nest there or will they travel south?

Fascinating, and beautiful too. I love seeing them in long needle pines.

Thank you all so very much. I really appreciate your taking the time to view and comment.

Longhorn: last year there were at least two active nests along the river - one of which I was able to photo from the two youngsters' first peeks over the nest to fledging. Awesome experience! (There were other nests in the area around Yakima, as well.)

Nice shots, Linda. I like the action. That is a pretty impressive camera you have there. Oh, who am I kidding....I'm sure it is the person behind the lens that makes the most difference in the photos. Well done.
