I took these the other night around the neighborhood. Minimal PP in LR all shots are hand held braced on the car window. Thoughts? I'm tough skinned, fire away.

In layman's terms, there is too much light flare in your images to consider them good shots. Someone more familiar may be able to instruct on what is necessary to get the type of shot you are probably trying for. Following is a quick choice of one of mine where the lighting is more precise.

Condensation/fog on the lens?
1/30th seems a little slow. I see motion blur in the individual lights.
Was the engine running?

Thanks for all the comments so far. All are valid and it is what I expected. I have hundreds if not thousands of the "nice" light shots but was looking for something a little different.

I took 2 photos, 1 severely out of focus for the bokeh and one sharp then blended them together. This was a first attempt and I can see where I can improve on the results. Yes, a tripod would come in handy but for the experiment hand held told me what I needed to know. I'll refine the technique and post some more if anyone is interested.

I like these, especially the first two, a nice artistic holiday dreamy feeling. An interesting effect, and I thought it worked very well. The third shot doesn't quite achieve the level of the first two, maybe a bit too much light blowing out the central area. Good job!

Thanks Treepusher, I still have more refining work to do but I think I'm on the right track.

Then your statement about minimal PP in LR was not entirely truthful.

So, what DID you use to 'blend' the images?

I believe my statement to be true about minimal PP in LR. I do shoot RAW so there is some PP in LR. I did however, neglect to say anything about PP in PS. From LR I opened both photos in layers in PS and blended to 50% on the top layer. That's it. While that technique may be above the heads of a few, for PS aficionados it is bare minimum.
