Include a scaled down original.

It will have one addition: The software used to scale it down.

Do not post original size, ever.

Why not? Paranoid?

Storing original is the only way to have it show, whether it is scaled down or not. And many of the scaled down ones get data stripped by the program also.

Originals should never be posted. Modified can be posted. Difference? scale, copyrights, name the reason.

I use a D800e and while I post huge files (24MB at times) they are NEVER the original, always a slight crop that way if anyone uses them* and I find out about it I can easily prove to whom the image belongs because I have the 'missing' part.

* One has to be nut and not looking for extraordinary shots.

Unless it's a photo that doesn't matter and you need to show the full image for some reason, I agree with Rongnongno to downsize the photos.

stableduck - I downloaded your first picture within "bee's in the back yard". The data is embedded in the file, including a name, the 7D camera type, exposure, Lightroom as the editor, the lens used, etc. The response to 'clicking' an image will depend on a few factors including your browser, computer OS and any 3rd-party plug-ins. My experience with Windows machines and internet explorer is that I need to right-click on the download link to obtain a menu that includes Save Target As ... which then allows me to save the file to my computer. From there I can access the EXIF data, either from Windows, LR or DPP, depending on the original software used to edit the file.

You can simply click the "download" link, which downloads to your computer's temp files to view, then right click and Save Image

Good point. When I left-click download, the picture launches in a new tab. I usually left-click the picture to zoom in / out and I had forgotten I can save the image at this point too with a right click ...

You have to check (store original) to have it upload your full image with EXIF data. The image you upload has to have the EXIF data included with it on your computer for that to work. Sometimes "Save as" before you upload doesn't save that data. Check that it is there before you upload.

When you upload without (store original) checked the site converts your image to a thumbnail without the EXIF data.

Then, as noted above, others need to right click and download the image in order to see the EXIF data.
