Snowy Owls have started to show up again this winter south of their normal range. Got this one this morning east of Newton, Ks. Handheld Sigma 150-500mm.

That is pretty cool. Last January, several were sighted in Overland Park, where I live. I did not see any though. They have been spotted way far south last year. Scientists said that there was an abundance of food the year before, therefore many more births and most of them survived.

Nice pic by the way!

We spent 20+ years living in Newton, most of it on Meadowbrook Court... west of the Wal Mart. Are a life long resident of Newton? Always interesting to find someone from
"home". We've been living in Phoenix for 10-years now, retired and loving the no snow and ice.
