I Need Help With a Photomanipulation Technique

Id like some help reproducing a technique I saw at a photographic exhibit at the recent Art Basel in Miami. The dealer didnt know the answer and the photographer wasnt there.
The photograph was a large, head shot of a prominent man. The photo was composed of tiny photographs of his wife that were noticeable only if one got close; from a distance it appeared as a normal photo.
My guess it is some computer (PhotoShop?) program where the wifes photo was repeated many times and then overlayed on the husbands photo.
Does anyone know how this is done?

Hi, What you are after is some software by Arcsoft, who are still solvent but whether they are still running that util I don't know because it is years since I purchased it.
But with it came hundreds of tiny images of differing density from low key to high key to get the various shades in an image. I think the photographer of the image you viewed must have created his own database to replace that supplied with the software. If you can get this software, I know it will run on Windows up to and including Win 8. I hope this helps.

Thanks for the link. I had used that before, but lost the link. One thing to keep in mind: you need lots of images if you want it to look good.
