I have just purchased a Canon Powershot SX260 HS as a P&S camera to compliment my existing Panasonic T30.

Here are two almost identical shots. Can anyone tell me which is taken with the Canon and which with the Panasonic?

Both photos seem to suffer from camera shake. This could be caused by too long an exposure, unsteady hands or both. The blur that this causes prevents any distinction between the two photos.

I think you saved the same picture twice and posted that, though I'm not sure if you meant to do that.

I'll disagree - the color seems a bit different - I'd say #1 Canon and #2 Panasonic, but the blurriness is about the same.

Each camera will leave certain artifacts behind that are distinguishable when compared to another photo.
Even in the open spaces and the shadows these two photos have exactly the same features down to the individual pixels.
They appear to be not only the same camera but the same photo in duplicate.
To me. but i'm not a photographer I just clean up around here. Its late:-o

To me, the second shot is the crisp one. Do not know which camera shot it, but like it better of the two.

The first one measures 4120 x 3024 pixels and the second one measures 600 x 440. Unless you deliberately changed the size, I'd say #1 is the bigger sensor camera.

Nope there both 4120 x 3024. and they both have exactly the same camera shake from on photo to the next.
I've never seen this type of camera shake with a tripod and these are by no means two different Hand Held Shots.
No way. there match perfectly.
The top, bottom and sides.

Without reading and being influenced by other responses, I prefer the first one, color and contrast - whatever that means.

They are identical files, the same number of bytes, even doing a "diff" on them says they're the same.

I have to agree that neither picture is very clear and there is no EXIF info to tell which is which. I sure hope it is the photographer's shaky hands or bad choice in settings or neither camera works very well in the chosen setting.
