After many years confined to the dark underground, thousands of these empty Cicada casts are left clinging to the underside of tree branches and leaves. Cinderella like, they eschew the darkness, shed their ugliness and face the worldÂ… transformed and resplendent in their magnificent new clothes. Sadly, this Cinderella experience is short lived as this grand party is the final phase of their long life before they too must confront their own personal midnight deadline.
