This is my third posting of bird photos taken in june in St Eustache Québec. This series was taken with the Lumix FZ200 and zooming between 300 and 400 mm. A couple of the images got additonal cropping.

What gets me is the absolute sharpness you achieved. Hand held? I also like the shutter speed used and the effects on the waterfalls. It wasn't all milky, like I know others like. Nice set.

Thanks for you comments djtravels. Very appreciated. The fz 200 does a good job on longer zooms and I am very satisfied with it. I had brought my tripod but soon found that photographing BIF is best done hand held. These were not BIF but some of my previous shots were so I set the tripod aside. My objective on this photoshoot was to have sharp images of the birds and as such the effects on the waterfalls was not intentional; the motion was just frozen.

I really love #1. You achieved your goal, but you also have super-interesting setting and very nice composition. Even the bird's posture in that one seems to compliment the force of the falls behind it (or vice versa :) )
