I am far from what one would call a computer expert so I need some help.
Starting this past Wednesday, whenever I get a message from UHH that a new response to some topic I've been watching has been posted, and I click click on the embedded link, the posting initially opens as it should, but within a few seconds re-formats so that the left side of the screen (the name and info column) takes about 75% of the screen leaving only +/- 3" for the posted text. The posting is not truncated but takes up much more vertical real estate.
The Home page that lists the daily topics does not do this, sites nor do any other sites, and the problem has not affected my other laptop. This laptop is running Win7 Pro.
Any suggestions will be gratefully appreciated.

Funny you should mention that because the same thing happened to me a few days ago. Then it went back to normal. I thought it was something I had done.
May not be the cure but when it happens to me I just press Control + 0
I haven't had that problem, but lately have been asked to frequently relog onto the website, up to three times a day. That hasn't been the case the last day or two tho.
Also, I've been getting these darn pop up ads that come on while looking at the website and can find no way to shut them off until they end themselves. Very irritating.

Download Adblock - sorry I have not got a link but it is there on Google. I use it, I don't get pop up ads on any site.

Jerry,
Thanks, I thought it was something I did! Funny thing, your reply was the first one I've received since being on the computer last night, and now it's working fine.
Jim
Thanks Searcher, I'll check it out.

You need to check your computer for adware.
If you notice the appearance of red or green double-underlined links covering some words on the page, that's a sure sign of adware. That same adware messes up page formatting.
I'm running the Malware program. I've seen no underlined links and, for that matter, I can't see any popups, I just hear them with no way to turn them off other than turn down my sound. And, I had to re-login this morning to post this reply.
This all started about the same time that I deleted Norton and replaced it with Webroot antivirus software, which also seems to have slowed down my computer significantly, but I'm not certain of the probability that the problems are related. I'm on Cox Cable and my computer speed can vary quite a bit depending on how many other people are using their computers.

I get neither sight nor sound of ads. I re-installed Ad-Adware this morning, after not using it for a few years.
Avira has gotten good reviews in antivirus comparisons. I've been using it for several years. They have free and paid - not sure of the difference.
