We were in Rome and were at the back of the area where the Pope was speaking. I have put a photo from where we were standing and an arrow shows where the Pope is sitting. From the very same spot I zoomed in on the man. Granted there is a lot of noise in the picture of the Pope but the fact that the zoom could get me this picture from this distance is simple amazing to me.

Wow!!!!! What is the zoom range on that camera. Very nice, that would an honor to be able to photo the pope even at zoom range.

Just realized something weird and typical coming from me...

I purchased the cousin of your camera the Lumix FZ 60. Completely forgot about it!!!

Worse, I used it yesterday while I was cleaning under the trees when I found a mushroom that was violet.

Wow! You did a terrific job holding your camera still enough to get a reasonable photo, given the zoom length. I wish I had been there. Going to the Vatican is on my bucket list. Ignore the bigoted remarks.

The Vatican like the rest of many religions 'holy sites' is about display of power money, ostentation and commercialization.

That the new elected pope wants to change the vatican way of life is good. Others like him did try but the system as a whole is set against individual mavericks popes.

That said, the camera shows an incredible zoom and the photographer an incredibly steady hand... Has a tripod been used? Still the VR is good and a good hand can do that.

Rongnongno: your commentary on the Pope belongs in chit chat, the topic here is the Panasonic camera and it's capabilities...just sayin.

And.. 'amazing to visit' is not a commentary that belongs there too?

At least I went back to the camera and the photographer in the end...

Just saying.

A photography is supposed to say something and create a discussion so...

Just saying too...

And the comment about the open microphone up in the sky is not a comment off subject?

Just saying again...

Just saying to you, this time... While I agree with many things you say AND the way you say them, sometimes you cannot pick and choose a comment because it more incisive than others.

To the op: I apologize for the interruption...
