Sage Grouse - Sequence 1

I am fortunate enough to live fairly close to a Lek and spend a few mornings each year watching the strut.

Amazingly beautiful birds!

Caught a couple as they were taking off, which I find hard to do as they are very fast.

All comments and crituques are always welcome

Very neat! Haven't seen many, if any, grouse, so this is new. Quite a terrific angle you caught, with the tail feathers and wings spread wide.

I also liked the way the feathers were all spread. Initially I was wishing I had caught them from the front but I think they turned out anyway. Gotta take what you can when you can :-)

Awesome, a better study of landing than a frontal shot.
