My wife gave me Christmas with my birthday last month - a new D5200 with 18-55 and 55-300 lens kit. So many new things to learn, so little time.

Took some pictures on a very foggy and chilly morning. The water does have a thin film of ice on top in places. These images are 3 renditions of the same capture that I worked on in Adobe Camera RAW in CS6. In the Neutral picture I changed contrast and exposure slightly. Would like to hear comments, likes, dislikes, etc.

First of all, congratulations on having a great wife and a great camera. It's a very nice shot made special with the fog. I like #1 the best followed by #2 but they're all good. Have fun.

From a photographic point of view, the first picture hands down!

Artistically speaking, the third comes close to the first.

Nice image!

For me, the third photo's revision captured the atmosphere of the moment best.

Yeah, that would be my order... 1, then 3, with 2 a long way behind. The first one is really good.

Thanks John, she is pretty great (the wife :) ). I lean towards #3 myself but just can't escape the appeal of the warmed up version.

It's #1 all of the way for me. I prefer the naturalistic view over the colored views.

I agree with the #1, #3, then #2. The first comes very close to B&W photo.

Thanks for checking them out CHOLLY. I like the artistic twist sometimes as much as a finished original look.

Thanks for looking Bloke. This seems to be the trend. I myself lean to 3, 1, 2 but appreciate all opinions.

Thanks for looking and commenting Dave. I like the way the original shot came out but couldn't help taking it to the limits once I started :).

Thanks Billy. I like a good foggy picture (and got several of them that morning), but I think the reason I started playing with the toning is because it was so close to B&W. I saw a little more natural color in some of my other shots as the sun got brighter.

3, 1, 2 for me. What's the possibility of your wife suggesting a gift for me to my wife? She did very well for you.
