Nelson Mandela died; some little-known facts about him
Mandela has been widely hailed as a saint, but those who adore him ignore some little known facts about his actions and past.
Error: Many people believe he was put in prison for speaking out or for political beliefs.
FACT: He went to prison for organizing the ambush murder of police officers, a fact he never denied nor expressed regret for.
Error: Many people believe he was a pacifist in his politics.
FACT: Mandela advocated violence and organized violence against political rivals. A favorite technique of murder and intimidation was "necklacing," putting a gasoline-soaked tire around the neck of an opponent and burning him alive.
Error: Many people believe his wife, Winnie Mandela, was a decent person.
FACT: Even those South Africans who admire Mandela agree that his wife was a crook and a total thug. She diverted donations to Nelson to her own ends, building a palace for herself overlooking Soweto. She surrounded herself with goons, known as the "soccer club" because they dressed in soccer style uniforms. Winnie participated in the torture/beating to death of a young boy, by herself and members of her "soccer club" while Nelson was in prison.

Mandela has been widely hailed as a saint, but tho... (

How about backing up these allegations with some proof? It's easy to just copy and paste crap you read on the internet machine; how about showing us that it is all true?
No doubt he saw the error of his ways during the many years he spent in jail......then he became a living legend ....go figure hey !
The history of South Africa ...and the rest of Africa is not finished writing yet.....but you are going to hear a lot of BS in the next 2 weeks on the channels....do stay tuned ! lol :)
tschmath ....you are a teacher....consult some history books ...don't let your political leanings rule your life like that ....the Ostrich is from Africa ! Hey?!!
You really need to research your facts and enable yourself to formulate a more complete and informative interpretation of events. It's kind of like trying to not take things out of context to express ones views. (Learn a little about apartheid and his background and contributions to society. See and learn why probably every leader in the free world respected and appreciated his leadership and ideals.)
Although the mainstream media has sanitized Mandela's violent and racist past, there's plenty of information available by web search. The following page has a lot of detail on Mandela's advocacy and practice of violence, and the bloody path he led. Most of that blood, incidentally, is black, although he certainly advocated violence against whites as well as blacks who had differing political affiliations than his own terrorist organization.
http://www.spainvia.com/sarahmandela.htmMandela was offered release from prison in 1985 on the condition that he renounce violence. He refused.
So....what's your point?? You read a page or two so you can single out something to demean the man?
The public has a right to honest even-handed facts about the history of one of the most influential people of our era. The public deserves better than what amounts to a propaganda campaign painting him as a saint. The mass media has covered up his vile and violent history, and we deserve more honest reporting.
Okay, you're right, I give up.....silly me. Yup, propaganda...

Just google 'mandela communist terrorist' for pages, yes "pages."
In 1964 Nelson Mandela was sentenced to life imprisonment for plotting to overthrow the government by violence.
In 1985, President P. W. Botha offered to release him if he would renounce armed struggle but he refused. Since the ANC takeover he engineered, over 30,000 white citizens have been murdered. His legacy is, in reality, one of violence, hatred, and destruction.

One can always argue with hard facts and figures.....just ignoring them works well with the apologetic liberals!
That murder rate you mention there is approximately ten fold the rate of the US ! (which is already the highest of any Western "civilized" nation)
I grew up in South Africa back in the 50s/60s.....was Paradise back then !
Went back, by car from Europe in the early 70s, only made it back to Rhodesia before the car gave up...things were heating up already but I survived !yay!

Sure, and the U.S South was Paradise back then, too... if you were white. Just ask Bull Connor and George Wallace. What kind of dream world are you, or were you, living in?

So what's your problem Teach?!
Mandela may have had a violent past but he was fighting a wicked and repressive regime. People will have to decide whether violence is acceptable when fighting wickedness. That's why we went to war against Hitler.

Ask yourself this question, if you were living under an apartheid style system as the group whose rights were diminished, would you turn to some sort of violent overthrow of the government after a non-violent approach failed. We live in a democracy, okay a representative republic, and quite frankly we have it better, or just as good as, any other nation on the planet. I thank the very God I pray to for letting me be born in the United States of America. Even having an online debate like this is illegal in many countries. We have so many freedoms in this country but we often forget that the United States is the exception, not the rule, when it comes to how people in this world live.
