The verbage for "what's in the box" says that it comes with a set of "Introductory Ink Cartridges". Does this mean that it's a full set of cartridges but of reduced capacity ??

Should I order another set of ink (@ $120.00) to come with the printer expecting the supplied Introductory Ink Cartridges to run out shortly after set up.

Yes. I've used LD Products for years. Top quality, low prices and fast free shipping. No tax. OEM $16.99 each. 10% off available or $122.40 for the 8. $120 is a good price if they are OEM and shipping is free. I have a Pixma that is 3 years old and it is the best printer I've ever owned and I've had them all. Good choice.

For a paper source try Red River....

They are full size cartridges, but they are clear and you can clearly see they are stuffed full of felt so there is precious little actual ink in the containers. The full set at $124.99 is truly a "full" set. The sample set that comes with the printer does not last long at all.

Those ink tanks are full size .... but you should have a supply of extra ink tanks .... you would not want to run out of ink in the middle of a print job .... I suggest as your first purchase you buy the multi pack($124) and then as you run out of individual tanks ... then replace that ink tank ... if you keep buying multi packs ... you will end up with several duplicates ...

The Pro 100 comes with full size tanks .... HP gives you short ink tanks ....

Having just bought two Pro-100 printers as well as a replacement ink pack I know that to be totally un-true. Both my printers came with sample ink tanks that had much less ink in them. In fact, the weight of the replacement tanks are more than double that of the included tanks (yes, I weighed them myself to see). Weight is how you know the amount of ink in those tanks.

I asked the same question a couple of months ago when there was a $300 rebate on the printer. Unfortunately, there is a smaller amount of ink in the cartridges that come with the printer. How much do you think it would cost Canon to put a fraction of an ounce more ink in the cartridges? A great deal of the high price of the ink cartridge is for non-ink parts. It just seems to create bad will.

It's too bad you didn't get the printer when it was $99. I got two printers and $600 in rebate cards.

So as long as I have a few of you on the thread that own this printer, may I ask. I am trying to save paper and print a few 5x7 or 4x6 off the same sheet of paper, how do I work with page layout?? Ive looked over the software that I loaded and can't find anything. When I print a 5x7 on put in a full sheet of paper it prints right in the middle and waste allot of paper. The printer came with a box of 13x19 paper and I would like to print multiple pics on it (christmas gifts} but can't find a setting for layout. So far, I have to say I like the printer, but this if my first photo printer so I have nothing to compare to. Cheers, and thanks.

What software is doing the printing? I've printed several images on one sheet, but I don't remember what program I used. you're using the Canon Pro-100? Someone will have a good suggestion.

You need to create a collage for printing. There are many software programs for doing so, the most popular is probably Photoshop Elements, but there are free software programs out there that will do it also.

Then you should have "My Image Garden" software that was included with the printer. It allows you to create collages as well a multiple prints of the same image all on one sheet.

I guess I am incorrect .... I usually buy HP printers ... a friend, who buys Canon printers told me they were full tanks .... lesson ... listen but verify ...
