Goodbye Maggie (Part II)...
Two weeks ago tomorrow we will have put our cat, Maggie, to sleep. May she rest in peace. This afternoon we got a card from our veterinarian:
The vet who helped with Gracie sent me a handwritten note a few days afterward, and it had a copy of the Rainbow Bridge with it. Made me cry all over again, shocked me that they would take the time to do something like that at all. I just moved here and simply had to choose the closest available vet that day, so it wasn't as if they knew me and my animals the way our vet back home did. This is a very touching tribute for them to do. I planted morning glories everywhere I could scatter a seed for my Grace. She liked hiding in the tangle of vines. Now she'll have plenty. :)

How wonderful and a fitting memory to Maggie.
I just got a chance to go back home to my wilderness. I brought a tiny maple tree home and I am going to plant it near Grace and I am doing it to honor your kitteh, luvmypets. Mark's kitteh got a tree, Grace got morning glories, and now your kitteh has a maple. We're going to circle rocks around it to keep our over-zealous gardener from mowing it, and each rock is being painted with the name of a pet we have loved and lost. Our family has lost several special pets in the last year.
That way the grumpy old man who mows our grass has to leave them and go around. He hates it when there's something in the yard he has to go around. He likes mowing in straight lines. Grace liked to pick on him too, so it's only fittin' that it continues, even though she isn't here. Honor can take many forms!! :) :) :)
