Hi All,

This is my first long exposure shot. I personally am proud of myself at how this turned out because this house was pitch black when I took the shot. What do you all think? Anything special or not really?

I think you did quite well overall, especially picking up the trees... It would make a great print...

Tom, Thanks.

Good point about the tree.
I don't have my camera with me but I know the shutter speed was 8 seconds.
I took another shot with a 6 second shutter speed and it didnt turn out as well.

Before I say anything . I have always said it's what the photographer likes . Being that said . I know how hard it is to get shots like this to come out the way your hoping . I think you did a great job . Although you have options using one of the photo programs to make changes , I see no need if you are happy with the results , or if you decide to make some small corrections , feel free to. Thanks for sharing ,Tommy

Thanks, Tommy, for looking.

Yes, I think it is good but I am a photographer "wanna-be" (and biased. I posted the photo so that the great people on this forum who have much more of a trained eye than I could give their opinions.
I ended up removing the bright light from the tree and sharpening it a bit based on some feedback I got.

I think it is a pretty good first effort.
I too would like to see the bright light removed from the tree and also think that it would look better if the green trees in the background were desaturated to the point where they only had a tinge of green.

I like it. As soon as I saw it I thought it would be a good candidate for a little Tonemapping. Hope you like it.

Thanks, Bob

You are correct. It brought out the house more. I've never done tonemapping before but now it is on my list of things to learn.
