Greetings everybody. I just got a ROKINON 8mm f3.5 Aspherical Fisheye lens, I put it right away in my camera ( NIKON D 3100 ) and on the screen shows that the lens is not attached! Can you guys tell me why is that??? Please. Thank you very much.

Is this a manual focus lens?

Manual focus only. http://www.dpreview.com/products/rokinon/lenses/rokinon_8_3p5/specifications. Switch camera to manual, then see if it works.

Does the aperture work 'automatically', or is that also strictly manual?

I thought that might be the issue when I saw the Automatic Chip. Thanks!

Think Rokinon corrected their "error".

I have this lens & it works great. Simply set the aperture ring on f22 & leave it there. Your camera will then recognize it as a standard 'G' lens, & your aperture will be controlled 'in camera', & not on the manual aperture ring. In other words, leave the aperture ring on f22 & it will work like any other lens.

It is manual focus, but this is no issue. The focus ring is not critical--leave the focus ring somewhere around the middle & everything from about one foot to infinity will be in focus.
