Looking for yourself or as a gift you may want to consider the new Nikon L620. My friend bought one and it is loaded with features and really shoots well. Right now their is a $100 instant rebate of $100 from Nikon so it's on sale now for $149.95. Don't know how long it will last but for that price it's an awesome little camera. I hope this helps anyone shopping for a compact.
