I'm looking for a used p&s camera for my grand-daughter who is 6 years old but uses occasionally her father's Nikon. Needless to say that it needs to be fully automatic. What do you suggest?

It may be cheaper to buy her on on a Black Friday or Pre-Christmas Sale than getting a used one right now.

I would go to eBay and look in the 6 and below pixel point and shoots. I have a daughter that tends to break cameras. She is on her 3rd point and shoot. They were all under $20 with shipping and not bad cameras. for pictures for the internet and up to 5X7's they work fine. - Dave

Try the local photography store 'old stock' 2nd user, etc all will have an auto or program-auto mode. if you have a free ads paper or free-cycle locally look there too. There is little re-sale value in point and shoot cameras whatever the pixel count so should be cheap and cheerful.
However at 6 years old she will be able to use all the programes and change every setting. I bet she sets up the VCR, sat nav and digital clocks for you. Whats a little camera going to do to stop her getting what she wants....
Buy her a Nikon - (not the cheap P&S I had to return it faulty and another one in the shop failed too) Get her a better one than her Dad's....then she can show him how to use it too!
