Welcome to this section, there's a lot of folks here who'll be able to point out fine tuning even in good photos like this one, things that'll make them even better. And we learn a lot from looking at other's photo and critiques of them as well.

At first look, it's a very appealing composition of interesting elements in foreground, mid- and back-ground. I'm not sure about the tones in the ground alongside the water, and I'd like to get a closer look. I'm curious about the color version too.

Most of us are going to ask you to check the "store original" box beside the file attachment box in your post, so we can download a larger version. We would be able to see more detail, and you'd get more specific feedback. Many of us like to tinker with each others' photos to demonstrate suggestions or new ideas, so be sure to say so if you DON'T want others to do that. Have fun!

Nice pic Joey.
I'd like to see it post processed to make the foreground snow white instead of grey, and the white snow on the mountain not appear blown out.
It has a clockwise tilt too.
I'd also be tempted to crop half the sky out to raise the bridge higher in the photo to closer to a thirds intersection.

The composition is good and you visualized what you wanted to show. Although you'll get some recommendations on improving the existing photo through Post Processing (PP), ====> you were simply there at the wrong time. Come back when the light is right.

You can get lucky, but most great landscapes result from studying light over periods of time. I suspect that the sun was moving from left to right and that the river area was in afternoon shadow. In the morning you may get the "right" light for foreground, mountain, bridge & pine tree. And perhaps you will have interesting clouds.

Photographers study the light and return to shoot at different times and seasons. You found the composition and made a good shot. Next, find the right light - and only then do some post processing.

I would guess that it was taken in the morning instead of the afternoon.

Good effort but some photos deserve color, this is one of those.
