Do you think "trust" would be a good title?....
Yes, but more importantly, I think it is an exceptional shot. Really nice.

Clever thinking behind that photo. Well done.
Great shot and title.

The depth of field gives it a tasteful 3D quality what aperture setting and where was it taken. Very nice and yes Trust or In Tune with Nature
If the butterfly had landed, THEN it would have conveyed trust.

Thank you for the nice comments, it was fun doing this.
Now the "Disclaimer"...(aka how I did it)
First of all my yellow little friend is no longer with us...and wasn't when I took the shot. He was a gift to me one day when I was about to get in the car at my Brothers house (35 mi away) and looked down on the driveway to see this guy alive...but not doing too well. Certain that he would get eaten by the next lucky bird, I gave hime a finger which he quickly climbed on. I figured his only shot was to ride home with me and see if he recovered and let him loose. Well...he wouldnt fly away when I got home so I brought him in the house and he lived for a few days (in his own real plant area) but never flew again. Perhaps his lasting beauty is my reward for giving him a few extra days???
Heres the deal... He is sitting(or standing) on my glass kitchen table. He is lit from overhead by halogen lighting (small 50w). I used my nikon afs1.4G AP1.8 , SS1/80. I focused on the head, knowing my hand would be out of the DOF and any slight movement that would normally blur it would be ok. I close focused as much as possible, then used minute camera distance adjustments to crisp it up. This was shot hand held. In PP I removed the blue thing from the bottom left, took out some of the color reflected under his right wing (a shadow wouldn't have that much color) and defocused the shadow a bit. Then cropped. Thank you for all your comments.
