Rob has given me a subject for my swamp photo. He has placed the elusive Lutefisk fish in it's native habitat. Many people may not know this, but the Lutefisk has a fin like a shark. It is mysterious much like the Sasquatch. It is rarely seen. Thank you, Rob, for bringing this forth in my photo.

Nightski has been pulling our leg. Having once been married to a Finn (Korpela) from the "U.P." in Michigan, I can tell you that Lutefisk is actually a nordic fish dish. It takes an acquired taste to get used to it (which I never did). Finns even use it as derogatory, as in "Man! You're in deep lutefisk now!"

Lutefisk (Norwegian) or Lutfisk (Swedish) or Ludfisk (Danish) (pronounced [lʉːtfesk] in Northern Norway, [lʉːtəfɪsk] in Central and Southern Norway, [lʉːtfɪsk] in Sweden, in Denmark [luð̞ˠfesk] and in Finland (Finnish: lipeäkala)) is a traditional dish of the Nordic countries. It is made from aged stockfish (air-dried whitefish) or dried/salted whitefish (klippfisk) and lye (lut). It is gelatinous in texture, and has an extremely strong, pungent odor. Its name literally means "lye fish."

What a wonderful turn of words! Can you make that into a haiku?

Lutefisk don't have fins.
But Finns have lutefisk instead.
Sometimes we eat both.

Bravo, sir! Well done.

And for Nighski, this has as much to do with good photography as Winterrose's edit to your photo.
