J-Speight,
Nice evening image, I suspect. I took one this morning in the daylight and even though it
doesn't even come close comparing to yours, I was wondering if you would give me permission to upload it to UHH in your thread? I live in the Hocking Hills and just thought I would let you & Erv see what we got south of you folks, only about 2-3 inches.
Also, we are supposed to head east to central PA today and was wondering how much snow, ice, freezing rain you received and the road conditions? We usually pick up 70E after getting to Zanesville and then get Rt. 77 going north through Canton/Akron and pick up 76/80 east to Lewisburg, PA.
Thanks very much. :)
absolutley you can upload, roads here aren't bad. My wife and I would would love to come down to Hocking hills and do some shooting
thanks for you kind words Erv,trc, GWR100

Thanks J-Speight. This is looking out into my back yard. Not all that much snow and not a great shot, but it shows what little we did get. The one picture is just tightly cropped of the tree - a little more picturesque.
The Hocking Hills are pretty nice, but depends a lot on when you come and what type of photos you want to get. If you come sometime, maybe I can take you to some more desirable places to get some pictures - once again depends on what you want to photograph.
Thanks again and thanks for the weather report. The weather maps still look fairly bad for western PA and east to a point.
I've been trying to upload images and answer your message you sent back to me for about 60 minutes, but no luck. Maybe my Internet connection is experiencing problems or the UHH site is having difficulties? In any case, I will try again, fresh from the start this time, and there won't be any duplication!? :)
Best Regards,
Tom

Preety nice shots Tom. Looks like you got more than us. You can keep the extra.:):) We were going to get around 6-8 last night. But it only turned out to be 4.:):) Love the white on the evergreen! The other one needs a little straightening. But a nice shot.Snow is pretty hard to get with it being so bright. Nice job!!

Thanks Erv,
If you look at the landscape view shot, you'll see that it is basically straight as is recognized by looking at the wires above that actually have a little sway/dip toward the center.
The land slopes to the right, naturally, or as it was landscaped, when the neighbor's house was built. I was told by my neighbor that the dirt when our basement was dug was used for additional fill for his backyard that used to slope more than it does now. :)
Thanks for the complimentary comments. I didn't spend much time after shooting - just to send and show for you fellow Ohioans. Too bad you didn't get your 6 " - Hah! I heard it was pretty bad on 77 around Canton and then 76 & 80 towards Akron and Youngstown. We decided not to trek on over to PA. I talked to my sister who lives in Williamsburg and she said they had light rain, but there was snow right behind it. That is where we would be if we left now, so I don't really need to drive in the snow and on icy roads. I have done that many, many times in cars and in semi's with 53 feet trailers. I can't tell you how many times I have driven on I-80 across PA during winter weather. Some times it wasn't a whole lot of fun! Heck, it gets pretty nasty around Medina, as well, coming up 71 - quite slick at times, for sure!
Take care and enjoy our early winter weather. I'll bet it turns warm fairly soon and then stays that way for a while until it gets cold and snowy again - maybe towards Spring - who knows for sure . . .
By the way, I always enjoy your photos when you post them on UHH - some very nice shots. :)
Best Regards,
Tom :)

That sounds like a great idea. We'll have to plan something when we are all free and mutually available.
I don't think we are heading out for PA - just too risky with the weather the way it is or could turn out to be. Not worth the trouble - see my comments to Erv.
Thanks for the compliments on the images. :)
