A cheery hi from snowy scotland...!
Need a wee bit of help if u can..
Looking for a stand alone software similar to dg foto / album express /
taopix ..but not with a huge price tag..for building photobook pages ready for print.
I kno that printers have their own software to download..would prefer to use an independant one thats got more functionality flexibility.
All suggestions welcome , thanks
Shazee, welcome to the Hog. Can't help with what you need, but a couple of pages back there is a post by I think, Ignats(?) title something like Publishing Photo Books, and it has 5 or so pages about programs and book publishers. You might find some info there.
Good luck
Again, welcome
SS
Welcome shazee. I'm not too sure exactly what you are looking for but there is a freeware package called Scribus that does page layout. Actually it is a pretty good desktop publishing software along the lines of Adobe InDesign. This could be more in-depth than you want but you can check out the link below:

Welcome to our forum!
We have snow here, too. Early in the season for it. The high winds are threatening the Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC.

Telle about it Jerry...
thanks for suggestions...has anyone tried album express 5 by spc?..any thoughts?
I just received my first book printed by Blurb and am very pleased with it.
Although I did use their software to load the pages to their website, I made each page in PSE 12. First the blank page, of the pixel dimensions the photos should not go outside of. After I had put on my images, I added pixels all around the page, so the photo edges would not be cut off when the book was trimmed, and finally added pixels on the binding side.
Because I have a good deal of scrapbooking experience with PSE, this was the way to go for me, rather than using their software to add 4 - 6 photos per page.
