Very nice, verdant greens and clear water. Is the body of water a natural phenomenon, or man-made? And please explain the phrase, "near the bees." It really DOES look like a nice place to get away from it all, as long as they let you bring in a camera.

Thank you. It is a Curlew Creek I stumbled upon last week and came across a hive of what we think were African bees http://www.uglyhedgehog.com/t-164338-1.html . It has a foot path through it and clearly not used very much. No supervision and parking for about six cars. The water was shallow but during rains I'm sure can rise quite a bit from the height of some of the banks.

You've said you've done some cleaning up. May I suggest a few more? In the center left side there is a single bright leaf sticking out of the darker green. It draws attention, and could probably be deleted. Same thing for the single brown branch reaching into the river, bottom left. And finally, in the shadow in the water, bottom right, there are two bright yellow reflections that could probably be removed as well.

My first inclination was to ask that it be brightened, ever so slightly, but on further review, I think you've got it just about perfect for a shadowed creek.

Beautiful coloration and composition. Nice and sharp. The title fits it very well. There are two spots in the water near the foreground that I was wondering about, almost like two small checkered-looking areas. Other than that question I like everything about how you have photographed and worked on this.

No, cool morning so I didn't have the skeeters and crocs are mostly South of here.

Distractions gone, and you lost none of the really good stuff.

This is up to you, but I notice the forground at the bottom is dark, shadowy, and not too much going on there. My eye is drawn to the beautiful bright foliage at the top of the photo. You might consider cropping everything from the green plant coming in from the side (or at least half of it. I know people who say that a little something in the foreground gives a photo depth) on down. To see what I mean, hold a piece of paper over the bottom 20 percent of the photo, and see what you're left with. The good stuff is all up top.

Lovely image, Larry,
my only wishes are that the very O.O.F. multybranched plant frond in the lower left corner be cloned out, and that the big tree frog had been better situated within the D.O.F.

There is a long green reflection running down the right hand near the bank. Keep all of that, please, but anything below what might be fair game for reinterpretation.
