One of the things that we as bird photographers should strive towards is capturing the "Defining Moment". That comes when we have been able to tell a story or evoke an emotion. Your photo is a great example of this and one we can all try to emulate. Superb!

The light really adds to the drama in this one by defining the birds and keeping them from being lost in the darker background. It's quite beautiful and artistically wonderful.
