I've been on the sidelines for many months--learning and laughing--and decided finally to become an active participant. I'm a non-professional enthusiast looking forward to improving my skills. Equipment includes a Canon Power Shot A590 IS, Panasonic FZ 150, and a Canon 7D (three mid-quality lenses). Emphasis on scenic shots, non-posed people, flowers, and critters of all kinds. Much appreciation to all for invaluable past lessons and, I'm sure, many more to come.

Hello from "Mid" Texas, Tomball. Sorry to see that you are "In Hiding" but, hopefully, that'll keep the wannabe yenta, "pros" off your back for a while until you become acclimated. Just step carefully until you find out what's good old Texas Cliche' Soil and what's doo-doo. By the way, I strongly suspect many in hiding, in reality, are in Witness Protection. Hook'em....

Oops, I see that I'm off to a great start--just read my "illogical" answer above that should have been for you. I'll get the hang of this . . . eventually!

Not to worry. Illogical is a state of mind that after years of breathing hypo, dectol and other stuff related to the hobby allows us to be illogical. You'll fit just great. Just make certain when you reach for the Dr Pepper Can, it's Dr Pepper, and not used Bull Durham.

Very sound advice, TomballLegend. Just wish I could point to years of hobby-related exposure as excuse; however, in my case it could be a host of other things . . . except age of course!
