I posted one of these in the New Member section last week. Thanks for all the kind words. This is a great bunch of folks. Here are 3 pictures I took at one of my favorite kayaking haunts - Oak Mt State Park in Alabama. I only owned a Canon SX110 at the time and these were taken in Auto mode. I bought the SX50 HS last week based on comments from this website.

So tell me, where these shot from a kayak? If so, you're either a braver or more fool-hardy man than I. I am an avid canoeist, but have never taken a camera with me for fear of it coming to an early end: death by water.

Yes. The camera is a small point & shoot that I keep in a waterproof floating box until I need it. My wife has already told me I can't take the new camera in the kayak. Luckily I've only fallen in the water once and that was when I first got the kayak. Some days I am the only person on these lakes.

It looks like a peaceful, beautiful place to enjoy nature. (I'm one of the many happy SX50 owners on UHH :) )

Nothing like being one-with-the-water...er, I mean, one-in-a-kayak-on-the-water. Yeah, I have an old Kodak DC265 for those times when disaster could strike. ;-) Nice shots and welcome, again.

I like your pictures! I caught many bass around that rocky point many years ago. A great place to fish!

Dixiegirl, I have been admiring your photographs of birds. I love all of God's little creatures and am probably responsible for a lot of fat birds in my neighborhood as I keep them fed all year long. Thanks for the comments.

I'm so glad someone besides us are keeping the Bama birds well fed. :-) You're very welcome, and thank you.
