One of the first photos taken with a "new to me" used camera I purchased in the late 60s or early 70s.

EXIF:
Camera - Graphic View II 4x5
Lens - Graflex Optar 203mm f/7.5
Film - Kodak Plus-X
Processing - Normal development Microdol-X 8' @ 20C agitation constant for first minute, 10 seconds every minute thereafter.

Mountains and Clouds

My first view of this made me think of a giant fire-breathing dragon asleep in a vast dark forest. It's a good photo and looks mysterious to me.

Thanks for the interpretation, HT. It does seem to fit.

All I remember is that it was rather cold, a bit wet, and there was these fantastic clouds hanging around some pine tree covered hills. I could not have asked for better to try out the camera.

I'd actually had it for a few months before I took this photo, but was still learning a lot of the nuances of using it. By the time I took this one, I was beginning to feel a bit more comfortable with it.

You are creating some beautiful photos with it. You make a good team.

HT,
We've been together for 40+ years. Along with processing equipment, added knowledge and experience with each photo, I'd say we're pretty comfortable with each other.
Thanks,
Bob

I have always loved subtle contrast and this camera abounds in the capability to produce superior contrast gradations. Mountains have always been a powerful attraction for me and wide open vistas. Man, you've got it all right here. Good on ya Mate!

I love the whole picture Bob, but it's the clouds that really impress me the grain is perfect, your processing is spot on. And there's plenty of fine detail in the trees. I can smell the chemicals from here.

Beautiful. And the good old 4x5 file, ops, film size lets one count the individual trees.

Thank you very much for your nice comments, Graham. That's one thing that I haven't lost, my love for the smell of fixer.
