Early snows caught these fall leaves in just the right light against the darker greens of the trees.

I love the lighting, the color, and all the crisp wintery detail. Very nice.

I really like the composition. I think the tree on the left frames the shot nicely and has great detail. The fact, though, that the photo is so sharp front to rear does make it a bit difficult to isolate those lovely red leaves from the somewhat busy background. I run into this a lot when I am in the wood. I've yet to find a good solution. What helps with this photo is the snow. Despite the somewhat busy background, I really like this photo and I've learned a lot about how to do this by seeing how you handled it. Thanks.

Now I'm going to wait until the spring flowers start pushing their heads through the snow. Life goes on.

Very attractive. Our pear tree has 4 colors on it now: Red,orange, yellow and some green. It loses it's leaves late in the season.

Excellent shot! And on download, that great DOF makes me feel like I right there in the midst of it all. Very, very nice.

A beautiful shot, Bob. Love the color of the red against the snow and the dark tree trunks, and certainly fits the title. Only comment I might make is that there isn't a clear subject here. If you'd caught a bird on a branch, or even a large pine cone to really attract the eye, you'd have a prize-winning composition.

Sometimes red flowers are just red flowers.
