I had planned a day in Pontiac (about 30 miles from me) taking part in a free class on macro photography and taking part in a demo day at a camera store there. Unfortunately, my son's day program was cancelled for the day and I was stuck at home. Not a lot to shoot in my yard. This was about it.

Well Sue I would say you don't really need the class.:):) These are great. Very well done.

Some days just don't go as planned. I like your first two pictures. I like falling drops of water. On the third photo, I probably would have focused on the drop at the top. So you at least got to use the camera and post some photos. Things must be looking up.

Thanks for looking and commenting. Actually I did try getting a shot of the drop on the third shot. I couldn't get in a position to get a clear shot of enough of the drop. This was leaning on the fence and I would have had to have gone into the neighbors yard for a better angle and she's not very friendly. Alas, I had to settle for the twists in the branch.

Creative use of down-time. I'm like you .... sometimes I've just GOT TO shoot something. It sometimes surprises me what I come up with. Usually something I'd never tried before - light painting is probably next. Intentional motion blur of leaves in a tree won't be far behind.

The other night while I was waiting around in the hospital (by brother had some surgery) I goofed around with zooming while shooting. They didn't come out great, but got me wanting to get it great. So, that's my next goal. I just realized I really need a tripod for that one.

I did some light painting when I first started in photography and enjoyed it. I've still never tried night photography, but I'll wait until spring or summer to try that one ;). Thanks for looking.

It's a sign of a good photographer when you can produce good looking images from the simplest of materials. Necessity can be the mother of invention...so well done to you :-) They're pin-sharp, magical colours and tones...what's not to like.
