A protester in Cambridge.
Graham
I get the impression that "protest" is a synonym for "party" to this man. I don't think he really cares about, or even knows what the current protest is all about. No problem there.

Hi ebrunner, your impression couldn't be further from the mark. He is very left wing and a serial protester, but a very jolly character :-)

Nice shot Graham very sharp with really nice dof.
Great character shot.
Would like to see him on one of your moody b/w's
Graham, i love your B&W street portraits, but something tells me this guy's red hair is one of the things that make this man "florid".

Thank you Emm. I have several monochrome versions, that surprised you, didn't it? ;-) I'll post one now.

I want to organize a protest march to march in protest against protest marchers.
Love it! Elsewhere there are discussions on portraiture, including one on What Makes a Portrait. I think THIS makes a portrait. The man's charactersoulseems to shine right through. One thing seems clearhe loves what he is doing. He loves to protest. He feels alive when he is carrying his sign. He is connected to fellow protestors. Otherwise his life may be pretty bleak. He's had a hard life. He's spent far too much time in the sun for a redhead. He's lost many if not most of his teeth. He's probably a good ten years younger than he looks. But right now, right here, he's lovin' it, and he loves you Graham, because you're taking his picture, and he is a happy man. Simply wonderful picture, which I'm sure would work in monochrome, but possibly not quite as well because part of what makes it is the color.

Graham, you gave me my first laugh of the day. Thank you. I guess protesting is a much more subtle activity in your neck of he woods, than it is here in Los Angeles where it is a very serious business, unless it's Haloween, where absolutely anything goes without a stir. Go figure! Better yet, go protest, something, anything, especially this kind of thing.

I don't know if you heard about the protest group that occupied St Pauls in London? He was protesting about that protest... I think.

A protester protesting about protesting protesters? I protest!

I have posted a monochrome version which I think works equally well, but who could not love such a colourful man?

I hear Monty Python are making a comeback, I think you may have a script for them.
