That made me smile when I realised that geographically speaking, "north of Fort William" is about half of Scotland. Fortunately it's only the west coast that's like that. And the good news is, there are so few petrol stations, EVERYBODY knows where they are and how to get there.
(I lived near Rugby for a while, and it wasn't long before I was hankering after the sight of a mountain or two. In fact, even a small hill would have sufficed :-) ).
