Display wise they might not show much different, but how about magnified showing rate of magnification. Bet you'll find a significant difference.

Create detail. It just goes to show you how we are brain washed into thinking mega-pixel is what counts.

And what do you do with all the images you shoot. If you are like most people you display them on forums such as this one or on digital devices. And I assure you this image would print just fine for any photo that I might want.

I'm not a pixel peeper and I don't think there is any real value to it. Yes there are times when you might want more but that's the exception rather than the rule.

When your photographing an Eagle at 100 yards, you need as many pixels as you can get to see a detailed Eagle image. However, one does not need a high pixel count photographing your friends, a wedding, etc.

Can't argue about cropping. But when you want to shoot that eagle at that distance a long lens will be better than cropping.

Well, I have both the Sigma 50-500mm and the 150-500mm lenses plus the Canon 6D full frame camera which gives me sharp detailed photos, so I can easily crop and retain sharpness.
