I like the fact that you got the reflection in.

Here's the monochrome version.

If your friend had been wearing a flat cap, it would have been perfect for the B&W.

I like the monochrome version best. To me a vertical with a tighter crop (keep that reflection) would work great too.

I like the monochrome version more. The textures and tones on the wood planks and in the reflection and surrounding metal make the image much more interesting to me. Much more vibrant. What's especially interesting to me, is that while the monochrome adds a lot more detail to look at, it doesn't distract me from the subject; it does the opposite.

I hate to say it but I am not a big fan of this one. I like the reflection, and the composition follows the general rule of thirds, but for some reason it just doesn't excite me. Maybe because it is a posed photo and I don't really understand what all the contraptions are around him.
I feel like I am the peasant telling the king how to rule his country on this, but I suppose it would be a lot to ask for me to love everything you do.
Tell me what I am missing here.

The Iphone/Ipod thing on the left arm is a distraction. It would have to be cloned out of the shadow also.

The subject without their I Thingy would be unthinkable :-)

Ahhh, but your edit wasn't fast enough :-D I know I am the peasant

I have studied this and studied it. Maybe if I knew what that is on his/her arm that you are so fond of. There has to be a story I am missing.

Maybe the story is that while you hate the ipod or whatever it is, you are friends with the boy/girl. That despite your differences and age you are friends. I still want to know what that contraption is that is in the foreground and background. What does the big wheel do. Does it open and close something or steer something?
