The world in micro-cosm, or a snippet that represents the whole. Before, I edited out birds because I was concentrating on the landscape. Turnabout is fairplay - bye, bye landscape, hello scattering birds.

I like this version. Lovely color, no tower, flying birds. Beautiful!

I want to thank all of you who helped me so much with this image. The various suggestions about cropping, cloning out the evil tower, putting birds out and in again, noise control, adding contrast and glow for a natural effect, matting, and those who simply validated the improvements another forum member made. I am working with new versions with all these ideas put to use in various ways. I've even tried Bob's matting recipe! (not as successful as his but I have hope). I think the greatest value of the feedback here is when we go back to the computer or the shot location and put in the time to use the various ideas shared by you other photographers to findwhat really helps us reach the image we'd envisioned.

This section is a wonderful gift to those of us who are trying to get better at this craft (I'm not at the art stage yet though I try to think in those terms while my skills catch up). Maybe photo clubs meet this need for some but many of us don't have photo clubs to participate in, making this forum doubly valuable to us.

Again, thanks,
min
