Thinking of selling my T2i with a 80-200 EF to add to the budget for a 7D. How much are they going for would you say? It's Basic: one battery, strap, lens and caps, user manual. Body cap. It is very well kept, no marks or scratches anywhere to be seen. Geez,, it is difficult to get rid of cameras. I really love them. Thank you for advices.

I would suggest you go on ebay and type in the T2i. When the search comes up, go to your far left on page, scroll down to sold listings. Click on that and you will see what that product has sold for over the past month or longer. Also, go on B&H, Adorama and KEH and see what they are getting for that same product. You can check the lens that way as well if you are including that in the sale. Good luck!

I don't think the eBay prices are steady and do not represent an average good, like new item like mine. Depends so much on how OK is the gear and if it really fits the description that the owner submits. On the other hand, some people overprice their gear and they get away with it when newbies step up to buy. And yes, the commercial sites have sometimes differences among them that range on the hundreds, their business is to make money.
I was asking for a honest, quick and dirty, ball park price, but I guess you can't offer it. I have seen some prices, though. It is not that I haven't looked. Just trying to confirm. Being a photographer's forum I hoped to get a better assessment here than than on those places (which I have already visited). This is the last part of the journey to find a reasonable price which is more than other do,yah.

Well, when you look at ebay, KEH, B&H and Adorama and see what that camera is selling for, then you decide what you have and the condition, is comparable in pricing it out! Only you know what your product is worth and what someone is willing to pay!

Why would anyone think a Rebel body from 2010 would sell for much the same price ($500) as the current model? If a specialized resale vendor like KEH says its $325, that pretty much sets the market price.

But I wasn't aware that KEH set the market, Thought supply and demand did. Also heard from a customer, haven't been able to confirm, that KEH was sold a short time ago and that their grading, which has been very conservative and strongy favored the buyer is becoming less so. Trying to verify that.

I recently enquired about the trade in value of a T2i at Henry's, a chain in Canada
They offer $90.00
If that is all I can get, I may as well keep it as a second camera when I upgrade.

Yes, the camera is still great. The only thing I don't like is the burst rate, too low for BIF and such. Otherwise, great camera, small and handy with a small lens like the 50mm, 28-70, etc... I only have 2 good lenses, so with the addition of another L or 150-500 I need a bigger, more capable camera or all of the weight will be on the lens. It i also appropriate for astrophotography because it will not add much weight to a telescope, Polarie or Astrotrack and tripod.

I don't find it too bad for BIF but you have to think like a fighter pilot not a ground gunner. As a fighter pilot you have limited ammunition so you cannot hose the target. You have to fire is short bursts. Think as if you were still shooting film.
Still I have to admit that I would like a faster burst rate. maybe this is one time to consider shooting in JPG.
