I just have a pentax optio E70. I'm totally new at this so I don't know the lingo of photography. I love taking pictures of my flowers in my garden and of nature. but would like to learn more about all of it. Don't understand megaplixels or shutters

Thanks to all, I'll get some pics up, so you all can give me advise on them. Like my sunset pic, can't figure out why they look so grainy

look it up in your manual, find it on your camera and see what the setting is...that might have an effect on the grainy pic...not sure because I dont really know alot about your camera.

Okay, did that and wow, now I know that it's set on auto, but I did find where I can change them to 64,100,200,400,800,1600,3200,and 6400. so that in less lite I need a higher ISO?

very good and exactly right. So was the camera on auto for the sun pic?

sometimes if the ISO is very high it will make a picture look grainy.

Yes it was set on auto. Since I now know about ISO I'll try different settings. This is so cool, I feel like I've already learned some new stuff. I'm going out this evening and trying some shots. Thanks
