This is hand held. Just wondering what you might think of it.

It's not in focus on my screen. This has happened before. Maybe I need to check something?

I also find it not in focus, other than that fact it would be a great shot.

Could be an "eye of the beholder" thing for me on the focus. :-D

I just look at the photos as a whole and don't blow up to 100% or look closely at small details. Don't get me wrong, those things can be very important, but just not to me.

The eye and jawline are focused sharply enough that I would not have thought a problem 'til read someone else's post. I like the shot very much! The position you caught it in, the DOF, the lack of reflection on the glass (presumably there's glass :) ) - well done!

Thanks everyone for taking the time to comment and your kind words...very much appreciated. I have to agree that the eye is just a bit out of focus...I have sharpened it ...let me know if you see a difference. My screen is the pits...on my wish list!! ;-)

It does look sharper. Putting aside critical focus which has been sufficiently discussed, I think this photo is quite good.

There is an interesting subject that is well exposed, no background distractions, and a composition and perspective that visually imparts a 3D effect. I like it. 8-)

To me it looks like the white balance is a bit too warm, may even have a slight magenta tint.

It's good enough to show this guy's mustache and goatee! Never noticed those markings on a snake before.

I think you are correct Lighthouse. I went back in and did a slight change to correct it for my files. Thanks.
