Hi, I have a Canon 7D and have just bought a Canon 70D. I'm interested in a good 400 or 500 lens, would love to find one in the f2.8 range or better for a very reasonable price.

Ouch......okay, okay guess that dream wish hit the dusk! Actually, I was just hoping that someone just might have been thinking about selling one, like I said, reasonably.

So, back to the real world, anybody got one in nice condition, with an average f stop, say f4.....f5.4? In the 400 or 500 mm range? Gotta be one out there somewhere that doesn't cost the moon!

I don't mind cosmetic scratches, well...a few would be okay. But, need the lens in good condition. Keeping my fingers crossed this reaches someone who has one that isn't being used anymore.

Sounds like you need to keep an eye out for Canons 400mm F5.6, its a reasonably good lens for its selling price. Also, I would suggest taking a look at the Sigma 150-500mm zoom lens, its under $1000 brand new with a 4 year warranty.

Thank you MT Shooter. I'll keep my eyes open, really looking only for a prime lens. I have a Canon 100-400, but want a prime so I can use my 1.4 telextender. My main shooting interest is Wildlife, and it's not easy pulling in those little critters!

Canon has a new 100-400 with a build in 1.4 convertor for a little over $11,000. The case I think is around $500. It is getting excellent reviews. :thumbup:
