Does anyone know how to print slickrock metallic silver 300 paper for optimal results or what type of image reproduces best for this paper?

Harry
go to their web site and see if they have a printer profile
available for the paper you want to use on YOUR PRINTER!
Not all pictures look good with this paper.
You need to understand that the light will pass through the ink bounce off the shiny paper and come back out through the ink making it glow! I find the best pics are colorful flowers, birds and anything you want to show off the colors. good luck with this paper I know you will love the results.
After printing take the picture out into the sun and view from different angles and you will be blown away!

Thanks very much. The paper is too costly to discard.

When you go to download the ICC profile, make note of Moab's recommendations for both media type and rendering intent. For example, when using their Slickrock Metallic Pearl on my Canon 9500 Mkii, they suggest i use media type: premium pro platinum and rendering intent: perceptual. There should also be notes for your printer and printer brand in the list of downloadable profiles.

Slickrock,as with many metallic sheen papers does well on many subjects. I have used it quite successfully on landscapes to abstracts. You just have to experiment a bit to see what your eye says works.

Check out their web page at:
http://moabpaper.com/icc-profiles-downloads/

You can download the ICC drivers for your particular printer. There are also videos there to assist.

Also check Youtube for tutorials that others may have posted to train or help with your printer needs.

Harry;

By following the recommendations of the paper manufacturer for your printer your results should be very good.

Rendering intent isn't specific to any profile but used to put out-of-gamut colors into your specified color gamut. If your not checking for out-of-gamut you should be.

The important things to get from the paper manufacturer is media type and the dots per inch density that they used to create the color targets used to create the color profile.

Would be interested in seeing some of your results.

In most cases I would agree with you, but in this case Moab specifically recommends Perceptual rendering intent for this paper, and from first hand experience, I can say that it does make a decided difference in the final result.

Yes please let us know. I use pigment inks and roll paper. I'm interested to see what you think and experience before changing over to try metallic prints also.

I have uses Red River metallic and for any good paper you should load the ICC profile for that paper and let your program control the color not the printer.

I'll certainly consider this recommendation also. I also think contacting the Manufacturer is a good idea.

Update-regarding the recommendations to download the ICC profile for slickrock metallic silver 300 paper. No ICC profile on record. As to any videos on YouTube, none available. I'm in the process of contacting Moab.

I anticipate their recommendation will be to select from the closest ICC profile recorded.

OK if there is no profile available then choose the PRO PLATINUM 1/2 setting if you have it.
