I combined three pictures in Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 to get this. I like the way it makes the tin pop on the barn. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get the outline at the top of the barn to go away. Do you think it detracts from the picture? Any comments and help will be greatly appreciated.

In photoshop, this is an easy fix. Make a copy of the layer. Then use the clone stamp with the blend mode set to darken. Set the opacity to 80% or so, pick a spot close to the area you want to correct and have fun.

I do not have PS. Only have LR5

You sharpened too much.. while it gives you the wanted effect in some ares, the very same effect is detrimental along the unbroken line of the roof, more of a problem around the branches and leaves.

You can fix it, but you have to isolate the pixels you want to keep from the ones you want to adjust. This is what PhotoShop or similar is specifically for, Isolating pixels and messing and manipulating them.

LR or NIK is simply not going to let you do this easily or at all.

Why not try Gimp- I hear it is free and people love it! While you are at it, you can fix some of the artifacts in the sky as well- it is a necessary software progression you have to explore... getting into the PS/GImp manipulation world!

never used light room but in PS there is a box that you can check to eliminate ghosting when doing HDR.

Yes, it detracts from the picture and you have over cooked the image. You need to experiment with the sliders and see what the do. I can't remember which one is the cause of it but it's best if you play with it for a few hours to see what does what.

I did that on purpose just to see what it looked like. This the normal HDR that I did.

That's HDR artifacts...you've HDR'd this thing to within an inch of it's life.

You could have used a select tool and done whatever just to the barn while reversing the select area would have allowed you to do something different to the surrounding area. There is a selection tool in which you use an eyedropper to select an area with the same color/shading which could be used for the sky to play around with.
My personal feeling is that you've sort of defeated the purpose of the HDR, but everybody here flies their own kite. I also feel that the issue here isn't about HDR but about effects you are applying to the image.
No offense intended - I've done similar effects on an old building to create a surreal/spooky effect - but HDR wasn't needed or used in the process.
