As a photographer for many years this design just appeals to me. :)
What do the rest of you think?

it looks kinda "retro." I like the look of some of the old SLRs like the Nikon F and Canon F1s....Pentax also made some classy-looking film cameras as did Olympus and Minolta....

Absolutely love the retro look. Great disappointment as to what's inside. Add a $3,000 price tag and it looks like a lot of them will be sitting on the shelf.

brings back memories of my 2 FEs. ah the good old days. paid $125 for a new black body. i think they marked it wrong. didn't take more than 2 seconds to make op my mind when i saw that. bought the chrome one for $75 used with a nikon flash and a nikon e lens. like i said " the good ole days"

This film or digital? Would absolutely buy it if digital excepting for the price. Love the look and suspected feel.

Digital 16MP full frame, about $2,750. See: http://kenrockwell.com/nikon/df.htm

Like a digital FE for anyone who wants a rugged semi-pro camera and does not buy the 36 MP kool-aid.

Love the look, as it appears to be solidly built along the lines of the classic Nikkormat EL and EL2, all Nikon F's, FE2, and FM2. All were built like tanks and felt solid in the hands.

Too much plastic feel to the current composite body digitals.
Also do not like DSLR video that has permeated camera body design in recent years.

Maybe the retro look will cause would be thieves to look past this camera as a tempting target.

Have a couple of rolls of film visible and it would be perfect camouflage!

Yes. A very lovely physique. Looks more like a Minolta than a Nikon, though. I like it.

I love it John, looks so much like my K 1000 Pentax. Used that camera almost 20 years, still miss it. If I had the money it would be mine :D

I agree that there is too much video stuff in todays dslr. I wonder if there is a market for a pure still digital. Probably be cheaper. Might even be better for only stills

I like the knobs. Everything should have them.

I don't like the price and the missing little red button for video.

My view, it looks boring, old fashioned and uninspiring would not want it as a gift.
