Here is a different look at my model from that days shoot.

Let's see what you think, and how hard this photo will be bashed!!
I do appriecate all who comment, good and bad.
I am learning something here.

Technically its OK.
But if it is a photo of her, the background is very busy and distracting.
The pose looks fake and unnatural and it is taken in full sun with the face half shaded.

The pose looks contrived and forced. I also think the shot would have been better in the shade without the glasses. It is always a plus to be able to see the eyes of the model. Of course, if it were a sunglass ad, then you would want to get in much closer to the glasses.

Philip, here is a link to images of models by pools. Some are good, some not so much. Maybe if you take some time to study images of models, you can pick out what you like and don't like and apply them to your own photography.

I notice that in most of the better images the background is soft focus. There is one with a deep dof, but the model is definitely front and center with the pool stretching back behind her.

Hope this helps. :-)

I'm by no means a pro so take my comments with a grain of salt. The model does not look as if she is enjoying herself, almost mad or frustrated in this capture, it looks forced. Too much background clutter as stated. The pose is not relaxed, sexy, or seductive. I cannot decide on her mood present. The skin tones and shadowing appear off. To much shadow from her hat. To much ambient light present. Like I've said, my observations could be way off and I welcome any and all contradictions and do not mean to offend you in any way.

Deej, your observations are pretty darn good. There are many more, but you gave it a good start. No salt needed here !
