As suggested I have adjusted the color of the rock, and removed the blue cast. I hope it is more appealing.

SoHillGuy,

This new edit looks much more natural, as if we were right there sitting on a boulder looking at the mountain. The overall exposure is now well balanced, and the natural lighting now enhances the composition.

The real question is: How do you like this edition?

I feel the sky is more blue than I would prefer it. However it does make the mountain more pronounced. So I guess that puts me on the fence.

SoHillGuy,

Perhaps the sky is over blue, that is a personal choice, I agree with that.

That is also something you can correct in PP, select the blue sky as a selection, then reduce the color vibrancy, you may have to edit the Hue a tiny bit. Watch the rocks in shadow, they are picking up some blue from the sky overhead, and may need attention.

The trick in PP is to know when to stop.

Thanks Mike for your input. I have been working with Photoshop since Photoshop 7 and before that Elements 3, so I know how to use the many tools they offer.

I really like the final picture. Great color, great focus, and good composition. You used the HDR to bring out the true colors and didn't over-cook the image at all. Beautiful. If it were me, I think I would have cropped the image just a little tighter and cloned out what was left of the two large rocks in the lower left hand corner. My eyes keep bouncing between the mountain and the two rocks when the the mountain should draw your eyes to the center of the picture. I would consider the picture to very picturesque and I would absolutely hang it on my wall. I like the blue sky. It is not too dark for me. If the observer has ever seen Mt. Rainier, as I have, your picture certainly portrays the scene just as it really looks. Keep up the great work and have a GREAT DAY!

I choose not to crop them at this point, but to remove them as best as I could.

I hope this made some improvement in directing the attention towards the Mountain.

SoHillGuy,

You did it!

Now the shadow leads the eye to the right side and back to the mountain. There are no major distractions.

Very nice PP adjustments.

Now someone will complain about the composition having the mountain in the center top of the frame. But, even Mohamed could not move mountains.

Nice adjustments,

Michael G

Mountain is ok-- but one more minor tweak-- crop out that bright stump on the far right. That's an "eye-pull" for me.

I love the image and miss the real mountains of Washington and Oregon. I have worked on similar scenes and then took 3 series of 3 images by using exposure compensation then merged all 9 images. Well actually there are not 9 becuase some are duplicated. But I have found that where there is water, land, and sky that + and - on ev does not provide the full dynamic range. My avitar is the result of this process. Again nicely done

Right from the very beginning of the post processing I had considered cropping the tree stump from the scene. Now I see CA on the stump that I hadn't seen before. I guess there will always be something we don't see, until someone points it out. Thanks for drawing my attention back to this stump.

Looks very nice without the two big rocks.
