I like your composition in #1. The wave in foreground adds a lot of interest. #2 needs horizon line straightened a tad.

To upload jpgs that have been edited in Picasa: while an edited image is open in your Picasa edit section, click the export button at bottom (it is to the right of Share on Google, email, print). You can then create a new folder for your exported images. It is easiest if you put it on your desktop. Note that the dialog box that opens for you to specify export location also allows you to re-size the image.

When creating a new topic on UHH, go to the choose file/browse below where you type text for your topic, and then go to the desktop folder and select your image. It will have the edits you made while in Picasa.
